October has arrived and it is officially Breast Cancer Awareness Month! Breast Cancer Awareness is a topic near and dear to our hearts here at Three Brothers Bakery, and we are so excited about everything going on this month.

Just last week, Cleverly Stone and Ruben Dominguez stopped by so we could show them the ropes on creating the perfect Pink Ribbon Cake out of petit fours! You can watch the segment that aired on Fox 26 here.

On Saturday, October 6, Janice, Bobby, and cousin Renee (daughter of one of the original Three Brothers)walked in the Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure. During the closing ceremonies, the survivors were invited to the front to sing “I Will Survive” by Gloria Gaynor together. It was a great day of fun and celebration of life. Since Janice’s treatment, she likes to consider race day her new birthday. This day of celebration is very special to her and all survivors.  At the race, we spoke with other women who said the same thing!

Even though the race is over, you can still make donations to the Three Brothers Bakery Race For The Cure Team here. Marathon Oil has done so much to help this cause, and we must give them a big THANK YOU!

Additionally, during the month of October we’ll have a variety of pink ribbon baked goods available including cupcakes, cookies, petit fours and even pink gingerbread men that are absolutely delicious. The best part is we are giving $1 of each purchase back to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

Also, don’t forget about our Shredding Fundraiser on October 27th from 9am-12:30 pm!  This will be taking place at the Braeswood location (4036 S. Braeswood Blvd.) The suggested donation amount is $10. Join us this month as we join forces to fight for the cure!
