Three Brothers Bakery Supports Susan G. Komen® during Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Houston Bakery Donates 50% of Pink Ribbon Product Proceeds Throughout October to Support Life-Saving Research and Community Programs

HOUSTON, TX — This October, Three Brothers Bakery is turning its cases pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Throughout the entire month of October, Three Brothers Bakery will expand their its Cookies for a Cause program and host a month-long bake sale across all four Houston-area locations and online, donating 50% of proceeds from all designated pink ribbon baked goods directly to Susan G. Komen®.

For co-owner Janice Jucker, the cause is deeply personal. Janice is a 20-year breast cancer survivor and the 11th woman in her mother’s maternal line to be diagnosed with the disease—a genetic legacy that has tragically claimed the lives of three family members.

"I feel without the funding Susan G. Komen has given for research to eradicate this disease I would not be here today.  While we do not know what my genetic mutation might be, I am certain with funding ongoing research it is only a matter of time before we know," said Janice Jucker, co-owner of Three Brothers Bakery.

Throughout October, customers can support the initiative by purchasing pink ribbon-themed treats, including signature decorated gingerbread men featuring pink ribbons, pink ribbon cutout cookies, decorated petit fours, and other pink ribbon baked goods.

About Three Brothers Bakery: Three Brothers Bakery is a fifth-generation, family-owned bakery bringing over 200 years of Eastern European scratch-baking traditions to Houston, Texas. The family's recipes, which originated in Chrzanow, Poland circa 1825, were preserved through the Holocaust and brought to the U.S. following liberation.

Today, these "memory makers who happen to be bakers®" offer a full line of breads, pastries, cookies, specialty dessert cakes, and pies. Three Brothers Bakery is a seven-time winner of the Houston Chronicle’s "Best of the Best Bakery" (2020-2025), and their pecan pie has been named “the Best Mail Order Pecan Pie America has to offer” by Country Living magazine multiple times. The bakery is also a dedicated advocate for small business disaster recovery, receiving the SBA Phoenix Award in 2018. Three Brothers Bakery operates four locations in the Houston area: 4036 S. Braeswood Blvd, 12393 Kingsride Lane, 4606 Washington Ave., and 574 Chimney Rock Rd.  Follow Three Brothers Bakery on Facebook, X, Instagram, and LinkedIn  for Houston area news, information and events.

About Susan G. Komen®: In 1980, Nancy G. Brinker promised her dying sister, Susan, that she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever. In 1982, that promise became the Susan G. Komen® organization and the beginning of a global movement. What began with $200 and a shoebox full of potential donor names has grown into the world’s largest nonprofit source of funding for the fight against breast cancer. To date, they have invested nearly $3.6 billion in groundbreaking research, community programs, advocacy, education and patient support services in more than 60 countries.
