As hard as it is to believe, school is starting to get back in session once again! While many of us enjoyed the relaxed pace and lax scheduling of those summer months, it’s time to get back in the routine of early morning alarms and classroom bell times.
For parents, teachers and students alike, it’s important to eat well. This begins at breakfast, the most important meal of the day. Having a plentiful supply of bagels around the house is always a good idea. You can toast them and put a spread on, or you could always use it as the buns for a breakfast sandwich.
(A big tray of bagels is welcome in any teacher’s lounge!)
As a special treat, we’d like to share with you our recipe for the bagel breakfast sandwich. Keep this on hand if you need a quick, easy and nutritious breakfast.
-
You will want to cook some scrambled eggs. I will usually add some chopped spinach leaves to the scrambled eggs for some extra nutrition to start off the day.
-
If you would like to add a meat option to your bagel, you will need to cook this first.
-
Pop the bagel into the toaster.
-
Once your eggs are scrambled and the bagel is toasted spread some butter, cream cheese, or mayonnaise onto the bagel to moisten it.
-
Then add some lox, or turkey bacon, and top it off with some cheese.
