The first time your eyes met, your engagement, your wedding, even your first date, at Three Brothers Bakery we believe every occasion with your loved one is worth celebrating. From custom cakes to cookies to cupcakes, we have a wide range of sweets to show your love just how important that anniversary is to you. The following is a brief checklist of the things you should consider when ordering an anniversary cake in Houston, Texas.
Flavor of Cake
Is this the year your parents are celebrating their golden anniversary (50 years)? If that’s the case, then look no further than Three Brothers Bakery to help you create the perfect finishing touch to their celebration – a cake. If the couple celebrating the anniversary are not the ones choosing their cake (i.e. planning a party for your parents or grandparents), then make sure to know what the celebrants like and dislike. Does the husband like strawberries – then order strawberry filling, but if he’s a chocohalic – order fudge or chocolate buttercream.
The first thing you need to consider is the flavor and icing of your sweet dessert. Do the husband and wife like chocolate cake and icing? This is one of the first questions we’ll ask you when you place an order with us. Often, if the husband and wife had a vanilla cake for their wedding, they will ask for the same. Sometimes they might opt for a chocolate one for their anniversary or vice versa.
Whether the anniversary cake you choose has one or many layers then you’ll have to select a filling; that’s the gooey, delicious cream stuff that either is inside the cake and/or holds the tiers of the cake together. At Three Brothers Bakery, we offer a multitude of fillings including cream cheese, cookies and cream, chocolate fudge, , strawberry, raspberry, white and chocolate buttercream, cherry, and black raspberry cream, lemon cream, strawberry cream and funfetti just to name a few.
Remember, if you’re not planning on serving a cake for your anniversary celebration, the flavors and fillings mentioned above can also be made in cupcake form. At Three Brothers Bakery we can also make cookies or other types of smaller, finger-sized sweets for your celebration or maybe it is a buffet filled with pies – we’ve got it all.
Shape and Size of Cake
Cakes come in all shapes and sizes and anniversary cakes are certainly not an exception to the rule. Depending on the number of guests you’re going to have at your party, the choices for the shape and size of your cake are endless. We suggest, as soon as you know how many people will be attending your event to give us a call at Three Brothers Bakery. We’ll be able to walk you through the necessary steps and answer your questions about what type of cake would be best suited for your event.
Decoration or Theme
One of the hottest trends for celebrating engagements is to decorate cookies with rings or wedding imagery. We can also decorate cakes, cupcakes, and even cake balls for your engagement party.
For the first wedding anniversary of many of our customers we bake and decorate a fresh top tier of their wedding cake free of charge (providing the original wedding cake was purchased from us).
If the couple were married in the fall, then maybe leaves and pumpkin decorations might be appropriate for their anniversary cake. Alternatively, if the husband and wife were married during Mardi Gras, then their chosen dessert might need to be decorated in the green, gold, and purple of that holiday season. Many people want us to recreate their wedding cake – just give us the photos, and we’ll do it.
From flowers and swags to ribbons and balloons, the ways to decorate your cake are as varied as the couples who celebrate their anniversaries.
Time to Celebrate
Perhaps the most important decision you will make regarding your anniversary cake is selecting a baker. With 70 years of experience and over 100,000 cakes for simchas (special occasions) made by Three Brothers Bakery, we understand the significance and symbolism this type of cake represents. It is for this reason, we prepare each of our orders using the utmost of care and professionalism to ensure it is the perfect reflection of the people you’re celebrating. Happy Anniversary!
