Happy Presidents’ Day! Though we celebrate the holiday on Monday, February 15, Lincoln’s actual date of birth was the 12 – and Washington’s is not until the 22. Still, we are happy to honor the many great leaders who have held our nation’s highest office.
It is hard to believe this year brings us another major national election; it feels like just yesterday that we ran our cookie poll promotion for the 2012 Presidential race. Back when the race was Obama vs. Romney, we kept a running tally of sales for cookies that had each candidate’s face on them. We loved seeing our customers stay updated with the polls through our “Obamney” cookies!
While it is not time for that poll quite yet, do not forget that Texans have to play their part in picking the next President very soon! On March 1, the major political parties will hold their primary elections to vote for their representative in the November general election. The registration period has passed, but do not forget to cast your vote if you have the ability to do so. Be sure to also pay attention on Thursday, February 25, for the Republican candidates’ debate that will take place right here in Houston!
