St. Patrick’s Day is just around the corner and while there are plenty of parties and pubs for those inclined to green beer, but there aren’t many things for the family to do. If you and the kids want to celebrate this St. Patty’s day we’d suggest heading to the parades.

The Houston St. Patrick’s Day Parade is a city favorite. The parade is in its 54th year and is still going strong. We don’t want to brag, but another thing that’s been going strong for more than 50 years is Three Brothers Bakery; head into the bakery before or after the parade and pick up some green, Irish-inspired treats!  The parade will take place March 16th at noon, rain or shine.

If you are hoping to avoid going downtown on St. Patrick’s Day, the 1960 Parade may be your best option. Over the past 34 years, the 1960 Parade has been entertaining people and donating to a great cause. The parade benefits Cypress Creek EMS Education Scholarship programs and over the last 5 years has raised over $100,000. The parade takes place March 17th at 2:00 p.m.
