It’s June, which means summer – and summertime means traveling! We will be here all summer baking, of course, but we have a friend of ours who wants to go on vacation with you.
Our trusty Gingerbread Man is ready to be in your carry-on, on your road trip, on your boat – or wherever your travels take you. He is so ready, in fact, that we have launched a contest to encourage his adventures – and you can win big by participating.
Starting today, June 5 (which is also National Gingerbread Day), we are beginning a contest for JetSet Gingy. The premise is simple: take our gingerbread man with you on vacation, snap a picture and share it with us on social media by using the hashtag #JetSetGingy. At the end of the summer, we will give away a dozen gingerbread men to winners in the following three categories:
- Longest distance traveled: Whoever takes their gingerbread man the furthest from Houston will automatically receive a prize.
- Fan favorite: At the end of the summer, we will compile all the entries with the hashtag #JetSetGingy into a Facebook album. The picture with the most likes will also receive a prize.
- Judge favorite: We will be inviting some of our friends in the Houston media to pick their favorite pictures among those submitted. We will tally up their votes and award another prize to the submission with the highest number of votes. Get creative – you do not have to leave Houston to take a great photo.
Now, let’s show the Gingerbread Man the world! A word of advice before you go – put Gingy in a Tupperware container. If you just wrap him in a plastic baggie, there’s a chance he could break in transit.
